On Alaska.com, Bob the travel guide (oh, how I wish he was called Bob the Builder) offers answers to all sorts of questions related to traveling in Alaska.
Additionally, in case anyone is looking for hotels for their upcoming visit (a girl can hope), here are a couple of nearby hotels and inns: **DISCLAIMER: This is to give information to those who wanted it... we have a spare bedroom that we'd be pleased to share ;) **
- The Inlet Bed and Breakfast isn't particularly glamorous, but it looks nice on the outside and is literally around the corner from our house.
- The Copper Whale Inn is about 15 blocks from our house. It's set in downtown... there are tall buildings around it, which makes its cottage-like appearance stand out.
- Clarion Suites Hotel in Downtown Anchorage is handy and has a view of the Park Strip.
- I haven't seen the following, but they are also nearby: A Wildflower Inn, The G Street Bed and Breakfast, The Oscar Gill House, Susitna Place, Anchorage Downtown Bed and Breakfast at Raspberry Meadows , and Sleeping Lady Bed and Breakfast.
- These are nearby hotels that I haven't yet seen: Hotel Captain Cook (if only it was Captain Hook Hotel), Marriott in Anchorage, and Anchorage Downtown Hotel.
Can't wait to hear from other travelers about the places they stay, as most of these look like great places to relax a bit!
