The Last Train Home

Tonight we saw the film The Last Train Home. It's about a migrant family in China and the family dynamic that emerges from their rural-urban divide. It was interesting, and I'm particularly curious as to others' insights.

  1. we've been planning on watching this but haven't gotten to it yet. we did just watch "up the yangtze" (available on netflix streaming), which was very good. the contrast between rural poverty and the world seen in modern tourism is stark, and one of the bext examples of this i've seen ("life and debt", which is also available on netflix streaming, is another great example of this technique).
